as Moonshot's late charge falls short and DeepSeek slips into the also-rans
NEW YORK, July 31 — Alibaba ended July still atop China's AI heap, an outcome traders priced at 69 per cent. Moonshot came hard and came close, but the crown never changed hands.
The week was uglier than the finish. Alibaba's price sagged before steadying, while Moonshot climbed within striking distance — one good benchmark from the throne.
Behind them, the field thinned. DeepSeek, once the story, faded to an afterthought; Baidu, Z.ai and MiniMax barely registered. In China's model race, second place is now a two-horse affair.
