FLÁVIO BOOKS RUNOFF SEAT AGAINST LULA
With his father barred from the ballot, the senator inherits the Bolsonaro banner and a clean shot at the presidency.

BRASÍLIA, Oct. 4 — Flávio Bolsonaro finished second in Sunday's first round, an outcome traders had priced at 82 per cent. He now faces President Lula in a runoff for the top job.
The seat was his father's to lose. With Jair Bolsonaro sidelined, the eldest son carried the family name past a crowded field — Tarcísio de Freitas never registered, Renan Santos trailed.
October's second round pits generation against generation. Lula defends his record; Flávio sells the surname. The wires call it Brazil's tightest choice in years.
